My daughter has the cutest curls! It seems that she may have hair like her father, medium course hair with amazing natural curl definition. But like many newborns she lost a large amount of hair after birth. Babycenter.com states is caused by infant hormone level drop right after birth, which can cause her to lose the hair he was born with. (New moms often lose large amounts of hair for the same reason.) Her hair has shown some sprouting but it still has quite a few patches. I will start massaging with Rosemary oil again to see if that stimulates growth.

ReplyDeleteIn my family, we call that large patch of missing hair in the back of a baby's head the "love spot". Just give it love and kisses everyday and the hair will grow back. ;)
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and I am so happy I did! I am transitioning into sisterlocks after 14 years of natural hair. Please keep sharing your product details and opinions, as they are VERY useful!
ReplyDeleteOn the topic of baby hair, I am sure lots of people have said this...as a mother of two, I can tell you that it WILL grow in. The info you read on hormones is right on. Although I'm certain her scalp and hair appreciate the rosemary oil, even without, her hair will grow in as she matures. My son was born with the cutest mohawked hairline, which has now (at the age of 7) completely vanished.
Congrats to you and your family.
