I have been sisterlocked since July 2015. My journey has been extremely fulfilling to say the least. I have gone through an array of different colors for my locks. Blue, purple, green, pink and the list goes on. The color that has stuck with me for the longest has been blonde. I'm asked all the time how did I achieve my blonde hair, here is my process:
- 6 weeks prior to coloring my hair I do a protein treatment to build the strength of my hair.
- Using Wella Cool Blonde lighter with 30 volume mixed with Olaplex to protect the bonds in my hair which prevents breakage.
- After processing for 30 minutes then rinse follow up with Olaplex no. 2 then shampoo with a purple base shampoo to tone my hair.
- Finally, I apply a conditioning mask on my hair, let sit for 20 min then presto!!!!!! Blonde tresses!!!
In order to maintain the health of my hair I continue maintenance with Olaplex No. 3 and hot oil treatments. I Also moisturize daily with rose water.
Quick Tip: ALWAYS put oil on your locks for moisture while hair is wet to lock the oils in. Otherwise putting oil on dry hair negates the purpose. For more questions visit me on Instagram @beautyandkinks.
